project list 2012

this is a little late, seeing as how the first month of the year is pretty much over, but i thought i'd go ahead and make a list of all the little musical endeavors i will try to conquer during the remaining eleven months.

1.instrumental soundscape project. i don't know much, but it will be called saskatchewan and have a song about fog.

2.singer-songwriter ep. i don't know much about this either. except there will be way to much acoustic guitar and piano.

3.synth-pop album or ep. this may or may not end up as an owl city/jellyrox copy. we'll just have to wait and see.

4. indie album but not like normal indie. i mean like crazy saw synths and lots of reverb indie. you know, like "wuddup, i'm sufjan stevens. i make music that's inaccessible to most of the modern world and i don't care." indie.

5.christmas album it's tradition.

moving

i'm sitting on the floor as i type this. my desk is in a different house now. i really wish this floor was carpeted. it's pretty hard. so is sleeping on just a mattress. and that awkward moment where you think you're two and a half feet off the floor, but it's really just six inches is starting to bug me. yeah. i need to finish moving. unfortunately there's all this dangerous ice covering all the roads and the police told us we can't go anywhere. somebody feed me immediately.

does this make me nerdy?

temple run AND temple run two. line a boss.

i can smell the death on the sheets

i think relient k's "deathbed" may be the greatest song of the twenty-first century. seriously. you've got an incredible, emotional story, first-class musicianship, and some french horns. it is indeed the best song rk has ever done.

an open letter to jesusfreakhideout.com

dear jesusfreakhideout.com,

we haven't always gotten along. i thought eleventyseven's "galactic conquest" was a decent album. you gave it one point five stars. i thought family force 5's "iii" album deserved at least four stars. you gave it two point five. you also keep giving tobymac's music good reviews. i just don't understand this at all.

sometimes we have agreed. you gave david crowder*band's "church music" five stars. i agreed with you. you said family force 5 was amazing live. i agreed with you. you said "forever ended yesterday" by these hearts was bad. if you were a physical being i would have hugged you.

we've had our ups and downs over the years, but today my faith in you has been re-established. you posted your "fifteen projects" list like you do every january. i always read the list and i sometimes buy the albums that you guys pick. but this year i have already pre-ordered your number one pick in my heart. the album isn't even done, and there are no pre-orders available, but all the same, i have. thank you.

cheers

what i did with my day

so, i started a band today. we filmed some of our practice, but it's not on youtube yet...

but here is the dilemma.

we have no name. below are some ideas.

satisfaction guaranteed
a legend, mr. wayne
becoming fear
gingerbread wonderland
ninja zombie warlord attack

and here are some ideas my brother came up with:

star wars
buford
going to the bathroom
ketchup
mcdonalds

so here's the question. what should our band be called?
